In May of 2014, Kevin assumed ownership of Schmidt Market Research. As president of the firm, Kevin provides oversight and direction for the firm’s strategy, operations and business development efforts. Kevin comes to Schmidt with over 25 years of experience in management and marketing, and has been a strong supporter of market research throughout his career. Kevin has demonstrated success in delivering growth through clear strategies, strong team building, and a consistent focus on people, brands, quality, and innovation.
Most recently, Kevin held senior management positions at Giant Eagle, a Pittsburgh-based grocer and retailer. During his 14-year tenure with the company, Kevin held a number of leadership roles in merchandising, marketing, and advertising for Giant Eagle supermarkets, Market District, and GetGo. Prior to Giant Eagle, Kevin spent seven years with Nestle, managing a wide range of marketing and sales functions.
Kevin holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and advertising from Michigan State University. Active in the local business community, Kevin is on the advisory board for TruFoodMfg, Uncle Charley’s Sausage Company, and Inteligistics. Also, Kevin actively supports the non-profit community as a member of the board of directors for Woodlands Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children and young adults with disability and chronic illness, as well as Ballou Skies, an organization focusing on muscular dystrophy research.
